RBB is a Christian based Program designed for girls ages 4-21. The activities/programs are designed to help our young queens discover their true PURPOSE in life. RBB provides our young queens with the encouragement and techniques needed to think for themselves, not just now, but to focus on their future selves. RBB charges its young queens to redirect their focus on their dreams and aspirations to set them on the path of fulfilling their purpose. Knowing your purpose is the first step in fulfilling your destiny. Helping young queens discover their purpose, works hand in hand with the development of their vision for their lives. Envisioning one's purpose can bring clarity of the need of change behaviors and decision-making that will align with a purpose driven life. We want this for all young ladies.
Young ladies in high school are searching for independence and identity. Their personal needs and priorities are the basis for goals they set for their lives. They are ready to explore and prepare for future careers and roles. RBB supports these young ladies in discovering their potential, increase self-esteem, promote abstinence, improve their leadership skills, and serve as a beacon to other young ladies, the Caterpillar and Monarch young ladies. RBB is mentor-led and all activities focus on helping participants improve:
Each vision is unique and our mentors provide the flexibility needed to assist each young lady with her personal vision.
Opportunities also include:
· Community outreach
· Double-Dutch competitions
· Field trips
· Fun, interactive, and educational workshops
· Presentations, crafts, and special guests
· Youth talk Tuesday's
· Butterfly Hump Day check-in
RBB one-on-one mentoring program connects young girls with caring Christian women to build a genuine rapport necessary for a nurturing relationship with each of our mentees. Our mentor/mentee relationship represents a true relationship of love, attention, understanding, patience, listening, acceptance, time, and support. The program provides monthly outings with the mentees, weekly contact, and continuous access to their mentors. We aspire for our encounters with mentees will encourage them to clearly and effectively express themselves. The interactions between mentors and mentees will demonstrate and model accepting constructive feedback constructively, communicating assertively, obtaining new technical abilities, change management, and leadership skills. Mentors are also expected model poise, good decision-making, faith, high self-esteem, self-determination, and other characteristics which demonstrate a healthy way of living.
Each mentee is paired with a mentor based on their educational and career goals the self-reported areas they wish to improve in life, as well as the temperament, and past experiences of the mentee. We want to ensure youth are matched with mentors who can relate to their thoughts and aspirations but that can also challenge them to endure through the change process. If at any time a youth or a parent wishes a mentor be changed, reassigned, or mentoring activities modified, our “open door policy” will facilitate those changes or adjustments. We are fully prepared to accommodate in a way that is flexible, supportive, and productive for our mentors, mentees, parents, and community partners.
RBB’s group mentoring consist of one mentor paired with five or more mentees. The group meets together every third Saturday. Throughout the program mentees will meet with their mentor, who will facilitate the group and follow the designated curriculum and program design. Girls will be given the opportunity to discuss various topics as a group. Group mentoring provides an opportunity for mentees to develop team skills, to have discussions without judgement, to feel free to express themselves, and to build a sense of sisterhood and togetherness.
****Our programs is open to ALL GIRLS regardless of race or socioeconomic background.
